Britton, South Dakota was chosen “Capital for a Day” on June 16, 2004,by Governor Mike Rounds.  Capital for a Day brings the government to the people—so they can relay their ideas and thoughts directly to those who make the decisions.  Cabinet members along with the Governor and his wife spent the day in Britton discussing current issues, attending ribbon cutting ceremonies, hanging out with youth and checking out all of the changes Britton has made.  It was a fantastic day for Britton, South Dakota!

“Britton is a progressive community with residents working very hard to literally create their own future rather than be content and let it come to them—I like that attitude”,  said Governor Mike Rounds.
